Clinical Negligence

Clinical Negligence

Clinical Negligence is where a Medical professional/s have failed their patient in providing them with the highest level of service and not provided the best duty of care to ensure no further harm or threat is caused to the patient.

Our specialist medical negligence, also known as clinical negligence, lawyers are qualified in dealing with claims that arise for negligence and have years for experience in the field.

Our lead solicitor Mervyn, is a highly experienced Clinical Negligence senior litigator and has developed a specialism in dealing with catastrophic high-value Clinical Negligence failures involving paediatric cardiac surgery, having been the lead solicitor acting for 356 families at the Bristol Children’s Hospital Public Inquiry and the ensuing litigation into the provision of paediatric cardiac surgery. In addition, he has specialised in birth defects such as cerebral palsy, erbs palsy and other serious obstetric injuries, as well as a number of cauda equina cases, caused by medical failures. Mervyn has handled serious failures of cancer diagnosis, failures of surgical procedure and his last cerebral palsy case settled for over £7m.

Mervyn’s view is “damages caused as a result of medical failures are unfortunate .. however, such failures can lead to life altering injuries. It is our duty to represent our clients, understand their needs and try to put them back to as near as where they should have been if the negligence had never happened. I feel very privileged to have the experience to assist our clients both in their recovery and their claims for justified compensation.

BLJ have provided me with the platform to continue my search for justice and along with my colleagues, you can rest assured that we can give you the representation you deserve“
